My wife uses her X5 for work as an in home infusion RN and I feel much safer knowing that if she gets a flat she will never be stranded. The other 3 were nails and screws that I picked up and was successfully always able to make it home or back to my dealer for a replacement. One was a highway pot hole blow out my side wall on my 2011 328 that I was able to continue to drive without issues to the dealer for a replacement. I have been running on run flats for over the last 10 years and although go flats may be quieter, less expensive, etc, I had probably got a total of 4 flats. Going to ditch the RFTs and get a tire repair kit kit That said, she’s not really going to put a spare on as well. Thinking about ditching the RFTs for non run flats, but it’s my wife’s car and she would probably be furious if I left her stranded with a tire repair kit. Thankfully haven’t had to use and to be honest haven’t figured out how to as well. I’ve had this in my the trunk of my 335i ever since I ditched the RFTs 2 years ago: Slime 50107 Smart Spair Emergency Tire Repair Kit encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I’m going to guess the spare is “easier” (just replace tire) and more versatile (can’t seal a shredded tire). Good question and would love to hear what others have to say. Whats are the advantages of the spare vs tire kit? I currently have Runflats, and the only thing that is keeping me from switching is that I don't want to get stranded…
